DOMAINE LA GRANGE TIPHAINE
La Grange Tiphaine was started at the end of the 19th century by Alfonse Delecheneau. The domaine has gone through three generations, and is now under the hands of Damien who is the 4th generation. Damien studied oenology and viticulture in Bordeaux, and worked in various wineries around the world from California to South Africa, having only returned in 2002 to take over the family winery. In 2008, Coralie, Damien’s wife, joined the domaine full-time where they now manage over 16-hectare of vineyards across the Montlouis-sur-Loire and Touraine-Amboise appellation. In 2016, Damien took on the role of becoming the president of the Montlouis appellation, and has brought significant improvements to the appellation.
The wines of La Grange Tiphaine are made with scientific precision that no other natural winemakers imply, making the wines beautifully balanced with finesse, while showcasing a level of energy that speaks to the sense of place. The domaine focuses on making terroir driven wines with these five grape varieties: Chenin Blanc, Côt/Malbec, Gamay, Cabernet France, and the ancient and rare Loire Valley varietal, Grolleau, allowing them to create a diverse selection of certified organic and biodynamic wines that truly resemble the place where they are grown.
