HENRI CHAUVET
Henri Chauvet confidently took over Annie Sauvat's former estate in 2021 and produced an exceptional inaugural vintage. The estate boasts 10.5 hectares of vineyards in Boudes, originally planted by Claude Sauvat in the 1970s. Notably, the region of Auvergne is renowned for its unique varietal, Gamay d'Auvergne, which distinguishes itself from the Gamays grown in other regions of France, such as Beaujolais or Loire. The vineyards in this area are located on steep slopes of basaltic clays and quartz, with subsoils of limestone, and outcroppings of blue marl - a defining element of his wines.
Henri Chauvet's wines are a true expression of the diverse terroir of Auvergne. With only two vintages produced so far, Henri's wines have already received acclaim both in and outside of France, showcasing his expertise and dedication to creating non-dogmatic natural wine. These wines are in a league of their own and will soon be highly sought after by collectors everywhere.
